Welcome, Pastor Erik
Beloved community,
It is with great joy that I, as President of the Church Council at Trinity Lutheran Church in Evanston and Skokie, announce that the congregation voted to call Pastor Erik Christensen at our September 15, 2024 meeting. Most recently, Pastor Erik has served as the Pastor to the Community and Director of Strategic Initiatives at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. We are thankful to LSTC for how this call has enriched Erik’s ministry. Prior to that, he was a re-development pastor at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Logan Square. He brings a wealth of experience in community organizing, worship leadership, strategic planning, and care for the inclusion of all people.
Pastor Erik will begin his work with our community on November 4, with his first Sunday of liturgical leadership on November 10. His formal installation will take place on November 24. Please watch for more information about that event.
Trinity Lutheran Church was founded on July 29, 1891. Its long history has been shaped by our central mission to transform lives by living the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In the coming days, we’ll have more information and an initial communication from Pastor Erik available on our social media channels.
We are deeply grateful to our call committee, church council, and the entire congregation for discerning the Spirit’s leading that has brought Pastor Erik to us.
Peace and blessings,
Peg Lee
